Under Pressure: Standing Your Ground

“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his” (Romans 8:9).

As a Christian, there is no doctrine that says I must accept or support cultures or religions that are sinful. The truth is that false religions, such as Islam all the way to Atheism (the religion of science) and even Liberalism (which is pure Anti-Christ), are always rooted in some kind of darkness. This is why I can say I love all people, but denounce false religions and wicked cultures. I can love the individual, but despise their ideology.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

Bob Dylan sang a long time ago about how, while it may be the devil, or it may be the Lord, you have to serve somebody. This is truer than people want to accept.

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon” (Matthew 6:24).

The simple point of this is clear: if you do not serve Christ and crucify your flesh, then you serve your flesh. You cannot say, “Oh, so-and-so is a good person deep down” because if he or she were truly worthy, they would hear the call.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27).

People are people, and simply living life without breaking too many laws is not good enough. Most people do that already. Christ talked about how loving your friend is no great feat, because even the wicked love their friends. The really impressive task is to love your enemy. To love those that hate and despise you. Not being a criminal is not good enough to enter into the kingdom of God.

Then, search yourself. Are you being the best you can be? Are you putting God first and yourself last? And have you accepted some cultural “truth” that conflicts directly with what Christ himself asked of us?

Don’t be bullied into accepting lies and abominations as “human rights” against your better judgement. Stand your ground in your heart and reject the lies that are being sold right now. I promise, brethren, you are not alone in this fight. The noose of the world is tightening around the neck of all righteousness. All those that walk in light see the darkness growing and the evil spreading.
