How To Get Saved

There is a lot of different interpretation and ideas about how salvation works. I’m writing this today to put that to rest. For those reading, if you want to live forever with Christ, you need to do what follows. If you already have, then you are among the blessed. If you do not believe or desire salvation, then this isn’t for you.

Salvation is a 3 part process:

  1. Repentance: This is the promise to the Lord. It’s a promise of change and a promise of servitude. When you repent, you put your old ways behind, ask for a clean start, and take up your cross to follow him. This must be done honestly and before baptism.
  2. Baptism of Water: The last physical step. One must be baptised completely in water in the name of JESUS CHRIST. I’ve seen a lot of Christians declare they were baptised in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost… This doesn’t work. The name of the Father is Jesus Christ, the name of the son is Jesus Christ, and the name of the Holy Ghost is Jesus Christ. There is one God, and his name is Jesus Christ. Do not use titles in the baptism, but his only name: JESUS CHRIST.
  3. Baptism of Fire: The most confused part of the baptism is about the Holy Ghost. The fact is that you do not get the Holy Ghost when you are baptised. Granted, yes: Jesus did receive the Holy Spirit immediately after baptism, but you are not Jesus. We all walk in sin and have tasted of darkness. We all have flaws we have to overcome and evils in our flesh we must triumph over. This is a long and difficult road, we must strive to become perfect. Once you have been baptised, you must then suffer for his name, strive to please him, and seek the spirit continually. Many Christians have been baptised in a moment of fervor, and lost their way… This is taking the name of the Lord in vain. Don’t pledge to follow him if you aren’t going to follow through. Even still, it’s better to lose your way and seek him out again then to forsake him completely. Sins can be forgiven (save for blasphemy), but if you don’t seek him you won’t find him.

Lastly, I want to give a metaphor to help explain the process. Repentance and baptism is like a marriage proposal. One asks the Lord to enter into an eternal union. Then, the Lord, being asked, looks and sees what is there. When he decides you are worthy, then the marriage takes place, and the spirit of God enters in. This can take days, weeks, months, or even years for many people. It’s better to seek him for many years and win his spirit, than to fail completely.

Remember also, that what is once won, is won. The seal of God is forever. It’s not possible to lose it once it is gained. Understand, also that once it is gained, you are no longer human. You are a new creature, and being such, will begin to change and become more.

It’s a hard road, full of tears, but it’s worth it all in the end.

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire” (Matthew 3:11).
